Ontario Woodlot Association

Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Kemptville, Ontario, the Ontario Woodlot Association (OWA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting sustainable woodlot management across the province. The OWA serves farmers by offering education, advocacy, and resources to help them manage woodlots that often border or are integrated into their agricultural land. Through workshops, forest management planning, and peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, the OWA empowers landowners to enhance biodiversity, improve long-term productivity, and access tax incentives. With over 2,800 members and 22 local chapters, the association plays a vital role in preserving Ontario’s privately owned forests while supporting the economic and environmental goals of rural landowners.
