The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) functions at the heart of Ontario's power system guaranteeing there is sufficient power to meet the province's energy needs in real time while also scheduling and securing energy for the future. This is being done by balancing the supply and demand for electricity in Ontario while guiding its flow across the province's transmission lines.
